Brendon McCullum was dismissed for 28 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In 11 overs, Chennai are 62 for two with Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis in the centre. They had lost the wicket of Dwayne Smith in the second over.

Piyush Chawla came in to bowl the tenth over and only four runs had come off that over. Chawla kept it tight and bowled in the right channels to keep Chennai batsmen in check. Narine then came on for the 11th over and had his rewards when he dismissed McCullum. The New Zealander tried to go over the top but hit it high straight down the ground. Suryakumar Yadav ran across from long-on to take a very well-judged catch.

Earlier, Kolkata had won the toss on their home turf and chose to bat. There was a change in their side as Pat Cummins came in place of Morne Morkel. Faf du Plessis and Ben Hilfenhaus returned for Chennai in place of David Hussey and Samuel Badree.
