India’s Test mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara, known for his compact poise and one of the few Indian batsman who has the temperament to post huge scores suffered yet another major blow after going through a torrid run of form in the recently concluded Test series against England, where India succumbed to a 1-3 loss. Pujara was culpable for throwing his wicket away after decent starts in the first three Tests and as was the case with the rest of the batsmen, he hardly registered a score of note in the last two Tests as India suffered a humiliating loss.

Here, the lanky Indian No 3 in Tests could only muster seven before being trapped leg before by the harmless medium pace of Jim Allenby against the Welsh county side, Glamorgan. Pujara had a torrid time during the five-match series against England, as he could manage only 222 runs in five Tests at a poor average of 22.20. He managed only one half-century during the tour.
