Cheteshwar Pujara’s 100th first-class match ended on a good note as his 90 guided his team Derbyshire to a 8-wicket victory against Surrey. There wasn’t much to separate between the two teams in the two teams as Derbyshire managed a lead of just 29 runs. However, Derbyshire batted with much more conviction in the second innings and secured an easy victory.

Mark Foottit was the wrecker-in-chief for Derbyshire, as he sent nine Surrey batsman back to the pavillion in the match. Billy Godleman too played a great knock along with Pujara in the second innings and deservedly got his century.

Pujara didn’t have a good tour to England, and was unable to face the wrath from England’s bowlers despite being a ‘Test specialist’.
