West Indies aided by unbeaten half centuries by Chris Gayle and Keiron Pollard set up daunting target for New Zealand in the first T20 International match at Lauderhill, Florida.
West Indies made 209 for two off their 20 overs with Gayle unbeaten on 85 and Pollard making 63 not out in a partnership of 108.
Earlier, after winning the toss West indies chose to bat.
The Caribbean side had a disastrous tour of England, where they failed to win a single match. The West Indies lost the three-match Test and One-Day International series by 0-2 margins, and also sliding to a heavy defeat in the one-off T20I last Sunday.
