Chris Gayle to former cricketers: Y’all can kiss my ‘Black Rass’

West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle, who has ended his controversial stay in Australia during the Big Bash League (BBL) 2015 tournament, has lashed out at the former cricketers who came hard at him recently in wake of the controversies. In a long Instagram post Gayle has replied to former England and Australian cricketers, Andrew Flintoff and Chris Rogers, telling them ‘Y’all can kiss my ‘Black Rass’’, which certainly will not go down with cricketing fraternity. Gayle’s stint in the BBL 2015 ended on Monday as his side Melbourne Renegades were knocked out of the competition, losing to the Adelaide Strikers by 12 runs.
Gayle ended the tournament personally on a high note as he equalled Yuvraj Singh’s world record of the fastest half-century in Twenty20 cricket, as he smashed a 12-ball 51 and eventually fell for 17-ball 56 with 7 sixes and 2 boundaries. On Tuesday, Gayle took to his favourite social media platform to vent out his anger, and he also thanked those who stood in his favour. Gayle posted a long note (with typographical errors, of course, and emoticons) and said, “The past cricketer who say I make myself look like a chop, the other who claim I was no good to the youngsters while playing for the thunder, the next one who said he expect that sort of behavior from Chris – Y’all can kiss my ‘Black Rass’ I love Australia and I will be back again even for the… [incomplete]. Don’t forget to check out the song #WeHeroes. #UniverseBoss.”
After Gayle ran into controversies with his objectionable comment on Australian female journalist Mel McLaughlin during the BBL 2015, former cricketers Flintoff and Rogers were among those who had criticised Gayle. Flintoff had taken to Twitter and said that Gayle ‘made himself look bit of a chop there’.
Rogers, in his criticism of Gayle said, “This is a pattern of behaviour. If you know the guy, you see it over and over. “I would go out with him socially or in a group and I’d probably distance myself from him,’ he said. ‘I was wary of the role he was setting for the younger guys, and I spoke to them about it, “Do you think this is good behaviour, would you do this kind of thing?” ALSO READ: Shane Watson not surprised with Chris Gayle’s ‘inappropriate’ interview
He added, “All the young guys were like, “No, we don’t think this is right”. It’s a pattern of behaviour. If you know the guy, you see it over and over. And it’s not just him. There’s a lot of this in the sporting industry, and to defend it is not right. I don’t see it as funny. He says it’s just a joke. It’s not just a joke, is it?”
“If I’d have been in the Thunder the next year it would have been my advice that he wouldn’t have been anywhere near the set-up. The reason I think he hasn’t played in the BBL for a while is because that was what was said: to stay away from Chris Gayle because he brings more trouble than he’s worth,” Rogers was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“Ppl think I may have played my last innings in Aus but my memory with the fans will live on forever!! I build leagues around the world and Big Bash is one of them ??,” Gayle wrote. “The Haters, I Thank you even more ????. I think a lot of past and present cricketers who smile in front my face could’ve have there say In the public when my so call issue was going on, but y’all don’t have the B**** to stand firm when it matters – but yet when u see me you’re like, Chris that’s BS against you, it was blown out of proportion ??.”
