Australian captain Michael Clarke sounds optimistic of a quick recovery of pacer Ryan harris who was star of Australian bowling attack in Sri Lanka. Clarke feels Harris’presence for South Africa Test series will be a big boost for his young team.

Australian captain was quoted in Sydney Morning Herald as saying, “Obviously Ryano with his body, we have to monitor him and make sure we’re doing everything possible to keep him on the park for as long as we can, because he is such a great bowler.”

“As we’ve seen in the (Sri Lankan) Test series, he is an important part of our Test team, so I’m really confident Ryano will be up and going and ready to get on that plane for South Africa,” added Clarke.

Harris had been the bowler of the series, with 11 wickets at an average of 15.

Clarke hopes Harris can repeat his performances in Sri Lanka in the upcoming Test series.”I hope he can bowl like he did in Sri Lanka, because at the moment he is at the top of his game and he is a big part of our Test team,” Clarke said.

Australia won the three-Test match series against Sri Lanka 1-0 on Tuesday. They are set to play two T20s, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two-match Test series in South Africa.

Harris who suffered a hamstring strain in the second Test against Sri Lanka, had missed the final Test as a precautionary measure.
