CLT20 2012: Highveld Lions keep Yorkshire to 131 in Group B tie at Johannesburg

Highveld Lions produced an impressive bowling performance to restrict the English County side Yorkshire to a moderate total of 131 for seven in the Champions League T20 2012 match on Saturday.

Electing to bowl first, Lions’ bowlers diidn’t allow Yorkshire batsmen any chance to capitalise and kept them under pressure.

Opener Phil Jacques knock of 31 off 29 balls, studded with five boundaries was the highest controbution by any Yorkshire batsmen, as others squandered a chance to get a big score after a good start.

Skipper Andrew Gale managed 21 off 26 balls, while Adam Lyth scored 21 off 17 balls, which included two boundaries.

Gary Ballance could manage only 17 off 16 balls.

Aaron Phangiso was the pick among the Lions’ bowlers, taking two for 23 off his four overs. Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir bagged two for 25.
