After beating Somerset in the second semi-finals on Saturday, a rejuvenated Mumbai Indians team is ready to face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the finals on Sunday.

RCB will be relying on their openers Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan to give them a fiery start  while Mumbai Indians will be banking on Lasith Malinga to get early breakthroughs.

Skipper Harbhajan Singh ahs already revealed their simple gameplan for the finals. He believes strike bowler Lasith Malinga will be the key for Mumbai team.

“We don’t have to think too much about what they (RCB) have done. They’ve chased down 200 runs twice. Everyday, this game throws new challenges, new oppositions, new pitches… things could be different. That’s the way it is. From whatever cricket I’ve played or seen, one day you could pick up five wickets and the next day you could go for 80 runs in 10 overs.” said Harbhajan.

“Gayle has scored lots of runs and hopefully [Lasith] Malinga will get him first ball. If that happens, that’ll be great,” added Harbhajan.

The biggest worry for RCB is their over-dependency on Daniel Vettori who has been their most economical bowler in the tournament.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have done exceptionally well in the bowling department  with Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh and Abu Nechim Ahmed delivering consistently. All three are averaging an economy-rate of less than 7.50 runs per over.

Mumbai Indians will relish their openers striking form at the right moment with Aiden Blizzard scoring a half-century in the semi-finals against Somerset. However they would expect Kieron Pollard to fire in the important clash on Sunday.
