Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) since the past few weeks have the wrath of defiant Committee of Administrators (CoA), who with each passing week is making life tough for Indian cricket premier body. The CoA in a surprise move have cleared as many as 13 one-time benefits for former cricketers without keeping BCCI in loop. As per procedure all financial decision is to be overlooked by BCCI treasurer, before being approved . These 13-players include Atul Wassan and Lalchand Rajput, who played for one and nine Tests for India since 1970. CoA has been at loggerheads with the BCCI when it comes to financial woes, thus they now have setup a parallel procedure.

As per a report in cricbuzz, the SC-appointed CoA have made Professor Ratnakar Shetty and CFO Santosh Ragnekar as official signatories. BCCI treasurer, Anirudh Chaudhary did not approve of the all payments and wanted BCCI’s approval to do the same. The BCCI after this seem quite agitated, “Have you ever heard any organisation releasing funds without the signature of the treasurer?”, a high ranked official was quoted. It was a few earlier, that the CoA instructed all BCCI-affiliated state cricket associations to give away names of all the members present in the open and also give a list of the same to its chairman Vinod Rai by August 8. This tug-of-war, has been a constant feature ever since the Supreme Court appointed the CoA to look into BCCI working.
