In one of the most shocking news of the day, two cricket coaches were found dead inside the Laudium Club Ground, Cape Town on Thursday. Primary investigation suggests both have been murdered but neither the convict nor the motive of conviction is known as of yet. The coaches have been identified as Charlson Maseko (26) and Given Nkosi (24). Apart from these two, Kagiso Masubelele (27), KFC Mini-Cricket coordinator and Obed Harvey Agbomadzie (27), Laudium Hub Head Coach and coordinator were also attacked during the same fateful incident and are in the hospital, on their way to recovery. All four victims were affiliated under both Northerns Cricket as well as Cricket South Africa (CSA).

“This is devastating news for the Northerns cricket community, Jacques Faul, CEO, Northerns Cricket told ESPNCricinfo. “They have been a highly valued and integral part of our talent pipeline development programme, particularly in the Laudium community.

CSA CEO Haroon Lorgat also offered condolences on behalf of the association: This has come as a huge shock to the entire Cricket South Africa Family. These are all dedicated cricket administrators and coaches who have been making a huge difference to the communities in which they operate, providing an important source of upliftment and hope, particularly to our youth. What they have been doing goes far beyond the game of cricket.
