Sports College, Lucknow pipped local rivals Al Barkat Malik English School by 24 runs to clinch the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Boys Under 16 Inter-State Challenge.


Opting to bat first, Sports College lost four quick wickets before middle-order batsmen Vijay Yadav (38) and Nitin Singh (29) anchored the innings by stitching a 50-run partnership, but the team was bundled out for 188 runs.


Jahangir Ansari and Shubham Singh scalped three wickets apiece for the Mumbai school. In reply, Al Barkat Malik were bowled out for 164 runs despite skipper Shoeb Khan’s fighting 61.


Mohammed Shahid grabbed three wickets, while Ankit Singh picked up two for the visitors.
