Knight Riders Win: In the 16th match of the Caribbean Premier League, Trinbago Knight Riders defeated Barbados Royals by 7 wickets. In the match played at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Barbados had given Trinbago a target of 179 runs to win. Trinbago won the match by scoring 179 runs for 3 wickets in 17.5 overs.

Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, Barbados Royals scored 178 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

For Barbados, Sherfane Rutherford scored 45 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 3 fours in 22 balls. Kadeem Allen scored 41 runs with the help of 1 six and 3 fours in 37 balls and captain Rovman Powell scored 31 runs with 3 sixes and 2 fours in 15 balls. Brandon King played an innings of 29 runs. For Trinbago, Andre Russell took 3 wickets, Mohammad Aamir took 2 and Ali Khan took 1 wicket.

Once again, opener Colin Munro gave a brilliant start to Trinbago, which came out to achieve the target of 179 runs. Munro made the match one-sided with his explosive half-century innings. Apart from Munro, captain Nicholas Pooran played an unbeaten innings of 65 runs hitting 6 sixes and 1 four in 40 balls. Pooran shared a 93-run partnership with Munro for the third wicket. Pooran also added an unbeaten 30 runs with Kieron Pollard. Pollard remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs off 9 balls.

Alex Hales was out after scoring 19 runs off 14 balls and Casey Carty was out after scoring 1 run off 2 balls. Trinidad scored 179 runs for 3 wickets in 17.5 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.
