A crucial match awaits the current title-holders Comilla Victorians as they face Khulna Titans in Match No. 11 of Bangladesh Premier League 2016 (BPL 2016). The match will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. This season of the domestic Twenty20 (T20) league has not been as fruitful for the Victorians as he previous one since they are yet to bag their first victory. On the other hand are the Titans who are among the top teams till now with two victories from the three matches that they have played in the series so far. Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016: Points Table and Team Standings

The Titans will be brimming with confidence after a close save in their last encounter with the strong Chittagong Vikings. The Titans team does not look to be among the star-studded ones; their biggest names being those of Mahmudullah, Alok Kapali, Kevon Cooper and Andre Fletcher. The team is vividly baking on the young local talents and they will have to accumulate all they have and face a team with big names.

Key to success for the Titans will be the performance of the experienced names, especially the skipper. Mahmudullah’s brilliant spell won them the last match in the very last over but the cricketer is yet to shine with the bat, which his team needs him to do. He will have to inspire his mates with his performance. His competition is with Bangladesh’s limited-overs skipper Mashrafe Mortaza who is way more experienced as far as leading a side is concerned and Mahmudullah’s on field activities will involve a lot of brain-storming to play around with the limited option that are on offer.

On the contrary, Victorians have all the elements a team needs. Problem is their faded form which is affecting the team’s overall performance. There have been scattered heroics by Marlon Samuels or a young Nazmul Hossain Shanto but all of it needs to come together to be effective enough to win these high-intensity matches. One of the prominent problems the Victorians are battling is the bowling. Despite Mortaza being present, the bowling looks to lack a leader, which is not something that will work in their favour. They need to work out a plan and stick to the plan.

It will not be easy for the Titans to register a victory over the Victorians, despite their own good performance so far and the opponents’ failures. The reason is the team and its players, who have a lot to brag about in the international circuit. On the other hand, the Victorians have let everyone down with their rally of defeats. Both the teams will be under pressure, though the sources will be different, and the ones who will manage to win the battle of nerves will surely have an edge.
