Chasing 123 was not a huge task as Riders had some good batting to come. Comilla Victorians didn’t have enough runs on the board and needed wickets in heap in the early stages of the game. Soumya Sarkar started off well and was scoring runs at a brisk rate but fell prey to Mashrafe Mortaza’s persistence on 22. Shahzad along with Mithun ensured their side didn’t lose another wicket and carried the team over the line with ease. the duo accounted for 97 runs between them and played according the situation to garner two valuable points. Riders now have 8 points in their kitty with four wins and have acquired the second spot in the points table. This win will certainly boost their confidence as the margin of victory is huge and they have also bettered their net run-rate with this outing. Victorians bowlers had a tough time on the field. Barring Mortaza, none of their bowlers managed to scalp a wicket.

Victorians got off to a shaky start as they lost early wickets in the form of Liton Das and Imrul Kayes were dismissed early on. Liton was run out for 4 while Sohag Gazi got the better of Kayes for 5. Ahmed Shehzad played well and weathered the early storm with guile. He was out for 52 by Anwar Ali. Shehzad played well and scored four boundaries and a six. Marlon Samuels played well and anchored the Victorians innings. The run-rate was not upto the mark, which didn’t let them post a big total. Rangpur Riders bowlers did well to chip early wickets and didn’t leak too many runs. They bowled a tight line and kept the batsmen under check.
