COVID-19: Shakib Al Hasan Foundation Looking After 2000 Poor Families in Bangladesh Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

The Foundation has thus far reached out to 2000 families and is providing them with all the essentials during the tough times.

As the world reels under the coronavirus pandemic, Bangladesh cricketer Shakib-al-Hasan has come forward and made a contribution to help the poor and needy combat the deadly virus. The veteran cricketer opened a foundation by his name with the mission ‘Save Bangladesh.

In a Facebook post, the 33-year-old informed his fans and followers that the main purpose of the mission is to help the poor families which are suffering due to the Coronavirus.

The Foundation has thus far reached out to 2000 families and is providing them with all the essentials during the tough times.

“The main purpose of Mission save Bangladesh is that due to coronavirus pandemic they would give food to lower class people who can not work at the moments. Till now this project has helped 2000 families and we want to increase this number as well.

“The whole country is suffering from coronavirus. Due to coronavirus, a lot of lower-class people don’t know when they will again start earning. Shakib Al Hasan foundation wants to help these people and has taken initiative to collect funds from different people and agencies worldwide. This fund will be used for these underprivileged families, Shakib Al Hasan wrote in his Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has clamped a 21-day nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Most of the sporting events across the globe have been called off or postponed.
