CPL 2025: Guyana Amazon Warriors won the 23rd match of the Caribbean Premier League-2025 (CPL) with the stormy innings of Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer. This team won by three wickets against Trinbago Knight Riders.

Guyana Amazon Warriors are fourth in the points table after winning four out of six matches, while Trinbago Knight Riders, who have lost three out of nine matches, have already qualified for the next round.

In this match played at Providence Stadium in Guyana, Trinbago Knight Riders, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 167 runs for the loss of five wickets. The team did not have a good start, by the end of three overs, the Knight Riders had scored 20 runs, but lost the wicket of Colin Munro. Munro was dismissed after scoring 17 runs in 14 balls with the help of three fours. The team also lost the wicket of Alex Hales (7) on the second ball of the fourth over. From here, small partnerships kept happening between the players of Knight Riders and the team put up a challenging score by the end of 20 overs.

Pollard played a stormy innings

Kieron Pollard once again appeared in aggressive style and played an unbeaten innings of 54 runs in 18 balls. In this innings, he hit five fours and five sixes. Darren Bravo scored 33 runs and Chris Carty scored 29 runs. Captain Nicholas Pooran scored 13 runs. The team of Knight Riders scored 167 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. For Guyana, Dwayne Pretorius, Romario Shepherd, Moeen Ali and Tahir Khan took one wicket each.

Shai Hope, Hetmyer and Pretorius gave Guyana victory

The target of 168 runs was achieved by the team of Guyana Amazon Warriors in 19.5 overs. The team had lost the wickets of Moeen Ali (4) and Keemo Paul (6) till the score of 14. From here, Shai Hope shared an 83-run partnership for the third wicket with Shimron Hetmyer and brought the team on the path of victory. Shai Hope was out after scoring 53 runs in 46 balls with the help of three sixes and as many fours, Shimron Hetmyer scored 49 runs in 30 balls (two fours, four sixes), while Dwayne Pretorius scored an unbeaten 26 runs (three sixes) in 14 balls and gave the team a victory by three wickets. For the Knight Riders, Akil Hussain and Sunil Narine took two wickets each. Meanwhile, Nathan Edwards, Andre Russell and Usman Tariq got one success each.
