Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza, Hamilton Masakadza dismissed against Pakistan in 1st T20I at Harare

Zimbabwe’s three crucial batsmen in the form of Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza and Hamilton Masakadza were dismissed for 11, 13 and 25, respectively, against visitors Pakistan in the first of the two-match T20I series at the Harare Sports Club in harae on Sunday. Currently Zimbabwe are 61 for the loss of four wickets in 10 overs with Sean William on nine and Elton Chigumbura coming in, while Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz and Imran Khan Jr. are the bowlers that have been used so far by Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi. Earlier, Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first on a typical African wicket that looked completely like a batting track and promised runs, as Pakistan finished on 136 for the loss of eight wickets. Pakistan’s left-arm seamer, Imran Khan Jr. made his T20I debut, while Mohammad Hafeez was the surprise axe from the squad. As Pakistan move in with an aggressive squad, it shpuld be noted that Zimbabwe have nit beaten Pakistan in a T20I encounter. They have come off an impressive performance against India and New Zealand of late in this very format of the game. The last time these two sides was when cricket returned to Pakistan after six years. Zimbabwe had graciously accepted Pakistan’s invitation and toured for two T20Is and three ODIs. Pakistan now return the favour with the same number of matches. Zimbabwe lost that series, but they managed to put up a competitive performance throughout. They followed it up with series losses to India and New Zealand, but managed to keep both superpowers on their toes.
