Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said:

Chris has made a magnificent contribution to Australian and Queensland cricket, and he should be commended on a fine career. His commitment to domestic cricket has been exceptional. Chris s reputation as a leader is well-known, and his exceptional record at one of our pinnacle venues, the Gabba, with both gloves and bat speaks for itself. We thank Chris for his service and the manner in which he has played his cricket, and wish him well for the remainder of the season and life beyond cricket.
