Police bust betting racket in Jaipur

A cricket betting racket was busted on Sunday with the arrest of six people from a hotel, the police said.

Akash Mathur, Karan Sharma, Mukesh Meena, Vedprakash Jat, Lalchand Karva, and Faizal of Jaipur city, the six accused, were arrested during a police raid in the city, a senior police officer said.

Cash of Rs 7,800 and transaction slips of lakhs of rupees were recovered, besides nine mobile handsets, one laptop, and one LED TV screen showing the Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils IPL 2014 match, the officer said.
