Cheteshwar Pujara has already scored two double tons in just 11 Test matches with enormous grit and determination. However, one more less influential aspect to these two great knocks was the presence of his wife Puja Pujara cheering for from the stands at Ahmedabad and Hyderabad respectively.

During his first double ton against England in November last year, the Saurashtra player had just got engaged to Puja Pabari (then), who was there to support him. He got married on February 13, just over a week before the first Test against Australia, leaving little time for the newly-wedded couple to spend time together.

“I knew his passion for cricket very well before we got into a relationship, so cricket is obviously his first love. It’s his hard work and dedication that has earned him the distinction. I just wanted to stay with him and so I am here,” Puja was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

On Monday, Cheteshwar Pujara defied a pulled hamstring to score his second Test double ton and also completed 1000 runs in 11 Test matches, equaling Sunil Gavaskar’s record.
