‘Cricketer’s job is to play cricket…’: India’s T20 World up-winning star criticises players ahead of Champions Trophy 2025
Irfan's strange post criticising players
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who was a part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad, shared a cryptic post on social media that confused his fans ahead of Champions Trophy 2025. Pathan’s tweet came after Virat Kohli played a Ranji Trophy match after more than a decade and got dismissed for just 6 runs.
Without naming a cricketer, Irfan posted that the jb of a cricketer is to play cricket and not get injured. Pathan went on to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to share the post.
“At the end of the day, a modern-day cricketer’s job is to play cricket year-round, managing niggles and injuries, not to train for 10 months just to play for 2 months” the post read.
Kohli is going through a lean patch in his career. Before Ranji Trophy, he had a dismal performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as he scored just 190 runs in five Test matches.
