Cricket South Africa s (CSA) ambitious Twenty20 (T20) project, the T20 Global League is likely to be replaced by their domestic league. The T20 Global League was postponed earlier this week, owing to lack of sponsors. The proposed six-team franchise competition was due to be played from March 14 until April 15 2018.

According to a report published in ESPNCricInfo, CSA held a teleconference meeting about the same with all the six franchise CEOs and asked about the same. It is been believed that the domestic T20 league received a green signal. The good thing for all South African fans is that all international players will be available to play the league with no other leagues or international assignments in the way.

A close source said, If there is an international tour in that time, only 12 or so guys will be playing. What about the rest of the players? They can’t sit around for six weeks and not do anything.”

South Africa are currently engaged in a home series with Bangladesh, which will followed by a trial four-day Test against Zimbabwe and then the big marquee series with India.
