Australian opening batsmen scores his maiden 200 in Test cricket on Day 1 of the second of the three-match Test series aganst New Zealand at the WACA in Perth on Friday. His 200 came off 236 deliveries, including 17 boundaries and a couple of sixes. He has been in tremendous batting form as he earlier scored his 15th Test ton and it turned out to be his third consecutive one. Also, he scored his 4,000 runs in Test cricket. Currently Australia are 389 for the loss of a wicket in 83 overs with opener David Warner on 223 and Usman Khawaja on 120. Australia also finished the tea session on 243 for the loss of a wicket, with Burns the only man to be dismissed so far in the innings as the New Zealand bowlers continue to struggle. The Australian batsmen in the form of Warner and Usman Khawaja started the post-lunch session in the same manner as Warner had a scare in the 29th over for a leg-before appeal, but was turned down byu the umpire and also the DRS saving him.
