Australia’s David Warner continued his beast of a form as he struck yet another blistering hundred against Pakistan in the third and final Test of series. Warner took only 78 balls to score his 18th Test ton. With his Warner also became the fifth batsman overall in Tests to achieve such a feat; fourth Australian. Warner s knock came to an end on 113 runs that included seventeen 4 s. Warner has now joined the league of extraordinary gentleman that includes Sir Donald Bradman, Victor Trumper, Charles Macartney and Majid Khan. While Trumper, Macartney and Bradman created this record in England, Majid achieved this milestone in the home country of Pakistan.

It was also the first time a batsman has scored 100 in the first session of a Test match in Australia, with Warner only the fourth Australian batsman to achieve the rare feat. Don Bradman was the last to do so with 105 in Leeds in 1930 on his way to 334, with Victor Trumper hitting 103 in Manchester in 1902 and Charlie Macartney scoring 112 at Leeds in 1926. The only other player to post a Test century before lunch on the first day of a Test was Pakistan’s Majid Khan (108) against New Zealand in Karachi in 1976.

Earlier, Steven Smith had won the toss and elected to bat first at SCG against Pakistan. Australia have made a couple of changes to their side. They have handed a debut to all-rounder Hilton Cartwright and have also replaced Jackson Bird with left-arm orthodox spinner Steve O Keefe. Pakistan too have a debutant. Sharjeel Khan makes it to the Test team. Pakistan have also roped in fast bowler Imran Khan in place of Sohail Khan.
