New Delhi: The Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) on Monday made payment of Rs 50 lakh as Entertainment tax after directive from the Delhi High Court in regards to the upcoming fourth Test match between India and South Africa. DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda confirmed the development on Monday. “We have made a payment of Rs 50 lakh as Entertainment tax for the corporate boxes at the Feroz Shah Kotla. This has been done as per the directive of the Delhi High Court,” Manchanda told PTI on Monday. Subsequently, Manchanda wrote a letter to the Entertainment Tax officer of Delhi Government P K Goel, intimating him about the details of the payment that was made. The tendering process will officially start from tomorrow and the entire process will be held under a former Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Deputy CAG) of government of India.

Among the other recent developments of Delhi’s primary cricket venue, the DDCA President Sneh Prakash Bansal was present at a meeting of committee members with Court-appointed observer Justice Mukul Mudgal. Even though it did not go down well with a section of the officials. Justice Mudgal himself, though steered clear from making any observation about the DDCA officials after his first interaction. Some of the influential office-bearers were not exactly amused either when they saw Bansal entering the meeting premises at the Feroz Shah Kotla. The reason that some of the DDCA officials do not want Bansal to come in the forefront is the allegations of misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore against him and they don’t want Justice Mudgal to get any further wrong impression about the association, which is already tainted.
