Dean Elgar makes the highest score by a South African opener in Sri Lanka

Dean Elgar, has the highest score by a South African opener in Sri Lanka as he reached an unbeaten 93. The previous best was 92, scored by Herschelle Gibbs and Kepler Wessels. Elgar has played impressively so far in the ongoing Test match between South Africa and Sri Lanka, hitting 11 fours and two sixes in his knock.

Elgar made his debut against Australia at Perth, and is considered to be an exciting batting talent with a great future. So much so, that he is compared with Allan Border in South Africa’s domestic circuit.
