Indian star all-rounder Deepti Sharma has made history in the women’s T20 International cricket. She achieved a major milestone in the final T20 match against Sri Lanka, becoming the leading wicket-taker in women’s T20 Internationals. She surpassed Megan Schutt to claim this record.
In the fifth T20 match against Sri Lanka, Deepti Sharma broke the world record for most wickets in T20 Internationals by taking the wicket of Nilakshi Silva. She surpasses Australia’s Megan Schutt, who held the record with 151 wickets. Deepti has now 152 wickets in the T20 Internationals.

However, with the help of captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s half-century, India defeated Sri Lanka by 15 runs in the fifth T20 match to clinch the series 5-0. India scored 175 for seven wickets against Sri Lanka in the fifth and final women’s T20 International cricket match on Tuesday. Despite half-centuries from Hasini Perera (65) and Imesha Dulani (50), the Sri Lankan team fell short of the target. Sri Lanka could only manage 160 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur played a brilliant innings of 68 runs off 43 balls, including nine fours and a six. She added 61 runs for the sixth wicket with Amanjot Kaur (21), helping India reach a challenging total. Arundhati Reddy then contributed an unbeaten 27 runs off 11 balls, hitting four fours and a six. For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari (2 wickets for 11 runs), captain Chamari Athapaththu (2 wickets for 21 runs), and Rashmika Sewwandi (2 wickets for 42 runs) each took two wickets.
