Amit Mishra who is playing his 100th Indian Premier League (IPL) led the Delhi Daredevils (DD) bowling attack against a hapless Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batting line up. KXIP thanks to Manan Vohra managed to somehow get to a score of 111. Mishra picked up his first wicket of the match on his first ball of the his first over. Mishra got Shaun Marsh for just for just 13 runs. Marsh who trying to play him over the covers missed the ball as Quinton de Kock swift glove work stumped him. Mishra’s second wicket was KXIP skipper David Miller for just 9 runs. Miller tried to sweep a straighter one from Mishra with the ball hitting him on the pads. Mishra picked up the dangerous Glenn Maxwell in the same over, who tried to loft him over long on only to find Carlos Brathwaite. Maxwell was out for duck facing only three balls. Mishra’s fourth wicket was the resilient Manan Vohra for 32 runs. Wriddhiman Saha was the sixth wicket to fall who was run-out for just 3 runs as JP Duminy was quick to throw the ball at danger end. This was also the second run-out of the KXIP innings with Murali Vijay being the first one to go adding just 1 run to the score. Seventh wicket to go was Akshar Patel who fell for just 11 runs, more than what their top and middle batsmen scored. Akshar’s wicket was picked up by Jayant Yadav. KXIP was 76 for 7. It was only Mohit Sharma who provided some impetus to their scoring rate adding 15 runs to the total after Zaheer Khan’s slower one foxes Mohit to mistime the ball.

Chris Morris was immaculate in his line and length picking up the wicket of Mitchell Johnson for just 4 runs. Final over of the innings 10 runs. Earlier it was DD who won the toss and elected to field first, having made just one change to their team, bringing in JP Duminy for Nathan Coulter-Nile. KXIP was brought in Shaun Marsh in place of Marcus Stoinis.
