Mumbai cricketer  Shreyas Iyer stunned the cricketing fraternity with his ability to take on any bowling order at the top at such a tender age in the 2015 edition of  Indian Premier League (IPL). Iyer after a series of consistent performances in the domestic cricket sculpted a spot in the Delhi Daredevils  (DD) side and made the golden opportunity count with his explosive yet calculative hitting at the top.  As per a report by a leading daily, Mumbai Indians (MI) placed an offer in front of Delhi Daredevils (DD) which demanded Shreyas Iyer in exchange for their three players including Australian star batsman Aaron Finch. But the Daredevils management turned down the proposal and not keen to let their consistent talent go. READ: Sachin Tendulkar proved to be of ‘immense help’ ahead of Ranji Trophy 2015-16: Shreyas Iyer

On the contrary, Iyer has been in a magnificent form for Mumbai in the domestic circuit and has scored 1204 runs in the Ranji Trophy season. Iyer is also on the verge of creating history as he is just 212 runs short in surpassing Inidian batting legend VVS Laxman’s record of 1415 runs in a season. He still has a game to be played in the finals against Saurashtra and stands a good chance of overhauling Laxman. To add to his good fortunes, Iyer hails of a terrific strike rate of 83.59 in First-Class matches and 131.61 in T20s. Keeping in mind the kind of form he is in, Delhi Daredevils not ready to let Iyer go as they are eyeing to invest in brimming talent and potential for the upcoming edition of IPL.
