Delhi elect to bowl in IPL 2012 second qualifier against Chennai

Chennai: May 25, 2012

Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and elected to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012. The winner of this game would face Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on Sunday.

Chennai made a lucky entry into the play-offs, but dominated the Mumbai Indians in the eliminator. On the other hand Delhi lost to Kolkata in the first qualifier.

Delhi are playing without their trump-card Morne Morkel and Irfan Pathan. The West Indian Andre Russell has come in place of Morkel wherease Sunny Gupta has replaced Pathan. Incidentally, it is Gupta’s IPL debut.

Chennai are unchanged from their victory against Mumbai in the eliminator.
