As Denesh Ramdin reaches his 2,000 ODI runs he becomes the first West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman to reach this feat. Ramdin got to this feat in 134 matches. It took him 11 years to reach enter the 2,000 run club. The one next to him his Jeff Dujon who had 1,934 runs followed by Ridley Jacobs at 1,865. The next two in the list did not even make it into 1,000 runs club. Junior Murray (678 runs) and Carlton Baugh (482) are the next two additions in the Top Five wicket-keeper batsman of West Indies. Ramdin has an average of 24 above which is quite ordinary. He has a strike rate of over 80 which is impressive in context of ODIs. West Indies have always struggled to produce quality wicketkeeper-batsman. Ramdin is undoubtedly the best wicketkeeper-batsman West Indies have got. He is also the only wicketkeeper from the Caribbean to score a century. Ramdin has two centuries under his name and a high score of 169.

He is also the 20th West Indies batsman to score 2,000 runs. Ramdin was just 14 runs away as he entered this match in a do or die situation at Barbados. He shared a partnership of 198 runs with Marlon Samuels for fourth wicket in order to do damage control and take his side to a big score against Australia. If they win this match, they will qualify for the final of Tri-series 2016 between West Indies, Australia and South Africa.
