Dr Ranjith, who is fast becoming a known name in Malayalam music circles, is coming up with his next album, Shan-e-Hindustan – an ode to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar which features him singing a composition in 20 Indian languages.

“I have had no training in music, let alone classical music. The only other interest I had at school and college was sports. My friends are as amazed as I am to know that I am a music composer,” reveals Dr Ranjith.

A dental surgeon by profession, who is a big fan of the master-blaster, insists that he cannot imagine not continuing as a dentist.

“I devote all my free hours to music and composing. I’ve come to enjoy my double profession,” he concludes.

Dr Ranjith’s classical composition Omkaram Harimuraleeravam sung by K S Chitra was a big success.
