The Dynamites had a usual start to their innings with Mehedi Maruf and Kumar Sangakkara opening the innings for them. Both the batsmen looked fearless and started attacking from the very beginning. They maintained a consistent run-rate and took the team to 37 without any loss after four overs. Maruf departed after that, getting stumped off a Nabil Samad delivery for a quick-fire 22. Mahela Jayawardene joined Sangakkara at the crease and the two took things further. Sangakkara contributed with 33 runs while Jayawardene added 31 to the scorecard. Both the batsmen were removed in quick succession by Rashid Khan.

The next two in, skipper Shakib and Mosaddek Hossain did not let the scoing rate drop due to the loss of wickets. From 97 for 3 in 13 overs, the two took the team to 141 for 3 in 17.5 overs, before Mosaddek got out for 25. Seekkuge Prasanna helped Shakib with further runs. At the end of 20 overs, Shakib remained unbeaten at 41 off 26 with Prasanna unbeaten at 11 for 4.

Among the bowlers, Rashid Khan was the most effective with 2 wickets while Nabil Samad and Sohail Tanvir both were successful with a wicket each.

Dynamites put Victorians to chase 171, which was a lot compared to their previous performances this season. Nazmul Hossain Shanto opened the innings with Khalid Latif but could not do much, getting out for 17. The Victorians found it hard to build up any effective partnership as they went on losing wickets one after another at regular intervals. Khalid Latif was most successful with the bat, adding 38 runs to the scorecard. Ahmed Shehzad played an innings of a run-a-ball 22 with the rest of the batting failing to contribute and the Victorians were handed a 32-run defeat.

Dwayne Bravo was the most successful bowler for the Dynamites with his 3 crucial wickets. Abu Jayed, Mohammad Shahid, Shakib Al Hasan, Seekkuge Prasanna and Nasir Hossain all bagged a wicket each.

Shakib was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his 41 runs and a wicket.
