Dhaka Dynamites came out hard in the 21st game of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2016-17 against Rajshahi Kings at Chitttagong and posted a massive total of 182 runs for the loss of four wickets in the first innings. It’s a crucial game for both the sides and Dynamites have done well in setting up a huge target. Dynamites won the toss and elected to bat first on a surface which was conducive for batting. Their openers did a good job in getting the team off to a flying start. Mehedi Maruf looked in good nick and got the ball rolling from the outset. HE played some good strokes inside the powerplay and was equally supported by Kumar Sangakkara at the other end. The duo accounted for 71 runs at the top and steered their side in driver’s seat. The stage was set for the middle-order to capitalise and they did well in doing so. Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016: Schedule and Time Table

Maruf was dismissed for 35 by Abul Hasan after which Mosaddek Hossain walked into bat Hossain didn’t look comfortable out in the middle and was dismissed for 13 by Farhad Reza. Seekkuge Prasanna played a brilliant cameo and provided the much needed impetus to Dynamite’ run. Sangakkara anchored the innings and played well for his 66, which included five boundaries and three sixes. He was undone by Reza after which Matt Coles joined in. Prasanna three sixes and couple of boundaries in his knock of 34 runs after which Shakib Al Hasan finished things in style. It was some good power hitting by Prasanna and did well to help his side in posting a good total.

Rajshahi Kings bowlers had a tough time as they were unable to contain the Dynamites’ batsmen. Reza had coupleof wickets to his name while Mohammad Sami and Abul Hasan had a 1 apiece. Sami was economical with the ball as he didn’t leak too many runs and bowled to a plan. It will be interesting to see how the Kings come out in order to chase this target. They have some good batting coming up and are well capable in hunting it down. Dynamites have some serious depth in their bowling and the second innings will be interesting to watch. Expect another thrilling chase when Rajshahi Kings take guard at Chittagong.
