India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has admitted that he is worried at the growing list of injured players in the team, but also added that this provides a great opportunity to youngsters to perform in the absence of injured seniors.

Dhoni expressed this after Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma joined the list of injured players including Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan Singh on the England tour on Saturday,

“If you think about the next three or four years these are the players who will be playing at that point of time. So, the more experience they get, the better it is,” Dhoni said after the first ODI at Durham was abandoned due to rain.

“I think games like these give them the kind of experience that is needed against a good bowling attack. So, I think it is a big learning experience for them and definitely that will help them in future,” he added.

India will now play the second ODI in Southampton on Tuesday, September 5, 2011.
