Mumbai: Former India captain and ex-chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar has been impressed by the talent and dedication shown by 11-year boy Sahil Yadav, who trains at his academy at the Oval maidan in South Mumbai.Yadav, who hails from a poor family and travels in the local train daily with his grandmother from Badlapur — 65km from the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus — caught Vengsarkar’s attention when he scored a fluent hundred for the academy team at the Azad Maidan recently.

Appreciating his talent and dedication, the former cricketer on Wednesday handed over a full cricket gear — a fine kit bag, good quality cricket bat, pair of gloves and helmet — to the young boy, said a media release today.
