Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Daredevils on Monday released their expesive purchase of the 2014 auction, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik, ahead of the upcoming edtion of the T20 league.
Indian batsman Karthik was on Tuesday bought by the Dehli Daredevils for Rs 12.5 crore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2014. Karthik was another player in the Mumbai Indians squad who had missed out on retention.
Delhi purchased Kevin Pietersen and Murali Vijay in the auction in Bangalore. In October this year, Karthik said on Wednesday that with Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the side, he can only be a reserve keeper, so he is preparing hard to score runs and make a comeback purely as a batsman.
âAs long as Dhoni is around, I canât think of being the wicket-keeper batsman of the Indian team. So I have to concentrate on my batting,â said Karthik.
Having made his international debut in 2004, Karthik had been a stop-start career with the task of fulfilling various roles from being a specialist opening batsman to a non-wicket-keeper. But he is unfazed by the lack of momentum in his career-graph and looking to start afresh in his quest.
