Douglas Jardine, the late England skipper, has been honoured by county side Surrey CCC after it renamed Lambeth Hall, a suite in the Kia Oval, Surrey’s home ground, as ‘The Jardine Suite’. Jardine was also the Surrey skipper.

Charlie Hodgson, Commercial Director at the Kia Oval was quoted as saying by the Surrey Cricket Country Club website “To add the Jardine Suite to our already varied conference facilities portfolio at the Kia Oval allows us to enter a new market for larger banqueting and entertainment events.

” Our conference and events business has been growing rapidly over the last 12-18 months, and as a result we have had capacity issues on a regular basis,” he added. ”  The Jardine suite not only gives us much needed space, it also opens up a new marketplace and underlines the Kia Oval’s status as one of the capital’s leading venues,” Hodgson said. Jardine is best known in cricketing history for having instituted the infamous Bodyline theory in the Ashes series of 1932-33.
