India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India to allow him some rest citing a busy schedule.

The Indian selectors face an uphill task to chose squad for the upcoming One-Day International series against England, as most of the World Cup-winning players including Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Virender Sehwag and Ashish Nehra are unfit.

The five-match ODI series against England begin on October 14.

Dhoni, who led India to World Cup win after 28 years early this year, led the Chennai Super Kings in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League just one week after the famous win, reports said.

Though he took rest in the One-Day International and Twenty20 series in the West Indies tour, a humiliating England tour as enough to drain him out of energy. In absence of star Indian cricketers, led a young Indian side in the ODI series in England with an ankle niggle.
