Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bat against Delhi Capitals at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Match 53 of IPL 2019.

Both the teams made two changes each – RR brought in Ish Sodhi and Krishnappa Gowtham while DC included Keemo Paul and Ishant Sharma into their playing XI

PREVIEW

Rajasthan Royals had a nightmare of a start to the IPL 2019 but eventually pulled up their socks to remain in the playoff contention. A change of guard at the top – Steve Smith replacing Ajinkya Rahane as the captain – worked like a charm that saved their season. However, Smith has returned and Rahane is back at the helm.

But their hopes are hanging by a thread – they need to beat Delhi Capitals today and hope Sunrisers Hyderabad lose to Royal Challengers Bangalore later today and Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow. Not a position they would have wanted to be where their fate rests on the results of other team but given the way they started their campaign, they would take that and hope for the best.
