India Red played a steady innings, as they were bundled for a fair total of 323 against India Green on Day Two of the Duleep Trophy 2017-18 at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday. Red’s opener Priyank Panchal remained the top scorer of the innings with 105 runs. Also, twin half-centuries form fellow opener Sudip Chatterjee (52) and skipper Dinesh Karthik (50) allowed them to post the decent total. As for the Greens, it was Murali Vijay, who claimed 3 for 46, while a couple of wickets each from Mohammad Siraj and Karun Nair too allowed Greens to bounce back in the tie, following a dull day on Thursday. The Reds started the second on 232 for the loss of five wickets, with Karthik and Krishnappa Gowtham in the crease. However, just as the score went past 250, it was Gowtham, who was the first victim of the day, as he fell for 22 to Navdeep Saini. Nevertheless, it was Karn Sharma, who tried to give a decent support to Karthik, but fell for 12 to Siraj at the score of 286. Karthik eventually scored his half-century, but could not contribute much as he fell right after scoring his 50, to Siraj. There were hardly any partnerships thereafter.

At the score of 304, it was Siddarth Kaul, who fell for mere six to Shahbaz Nadeem, while Ashok Dinda was the final man to be dismissed for mere 11 to Vijay. The Reds were bundled for 323 as the umpires called for the tea break.
