India Red needed 7 wickets to gain an outright win at the start of second session on Day Four but were made to toil hard courtesy Karun Nair’s unbeaten ton. Coming into bat at 37 for 2, on day three, Nair notched up a splendid hundred in the post-tea session for India Green to keep them in hunt heading into dinner. Green’s led by Parthiv Patel are still 207 away from a win with 6 wickets in hand.

Both Parthiv Patel and Nair slowly build on a 49 run stand between them. Nair looked in complete control. Patel, on the other hand played to the merit of the ball. All things going well for Green’s, but tragedy stuck soon as Patel was out for 26. It was India s Green chief tormentor, Sharma yet again to Red s rescue.

Mayank Dagar came out in the middle as Nair approached his hundred.

Nair soon reached his 10th First-Class hundred in 117 balls inclusive of 10 fours. They have added crucial 54 runs for the fifth wicket. Dagar knocked off easy singles, while using the long handle very sparsely so far.

India Green closed second session on 267 for 5 with Nair and Dagar not out on 112 and 22 respectively.
