Despite Manoj Tiwary s heroic knock, India Blue s innings came to an end with 177 runs on the board as they face India Green in the third Duleep Trophy 2017 contest. At Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, India Blue won the toss and skipper Suresh Raina elected to bat. Blue lost their openers soon, but Tiwary and Raina showed some defence to stay on course. By the end of second innings, India Green cleared up the rest of the India Blue to restrict them to a gettable score. In the first session, despite losing a couple of wickets, India Blue put up 92 runs on the board, courtesy Raina and Tiwary s sensible batting. Tiwary completed his half-century soon after they came back from tea and also took the team score past 100. However, wickets kept falling at the other end. Tiwary hardly found any support apart from Raina and kept fighting alone, finally getting out for 78. Aniket Choudhary finished the innings with 3 crucial wickets while Parvez Rasool was the most successful with 5 for 70. The other successful bowler was Mayank Dagar, with 2 wickets.

Apart from Tiwary and Raina, no other India Blue batsmen managed to put up any impressive display of batting. This now will increase pressure upon their bowlers, who will have to defend a low score.

Brief scores:

India Blue 177 (Manoj Tiwary 78, Suresh Raina 40, Deepak Hooda 16; Aniket Choudhary 3 for 18, Parvez Rasool 5 for 70, Mayank Dagar 2 for 11) against India Green.
