The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the BBC on Thursday announced a new six-year deal, extended till 2019, to continue their Test Match Special exclusive radio rights for all England matches to be played at home.
This extension of the deal enables the BBC’s radio commitment to cover two Ashes series at home and tours of India and South Africa, along with a new Sky television contract also in the offing.
ECB chief executive David Collier was quoted as saying by The Press Association, “This is excellent news for all cricket-lovers. Test Match Special brings cricket into millions of homes in this country each summer and is widely recognised for its unique and world-class coverage of cricket.”
