ECB awards Chris Jordan, Michael Lumb increment contracts

In what may turn out to be the start of good things to come by for Chris Jordan and Michael Lumb, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced increment contracts for the duo for the 2013-14 season.

Jordan, who has represented England in 6 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 9 T20Is whereas Lumb who has featured in 3 ODIs and 7 T20Is, have been deemed worthy of the hike thanks to their consistent performances for the national side recently, reports ecb.co.uk.

Both players featured for England in the T20 series against the West Indies in the Caribbeans and are also part of the squad for the ongoing ICC World T20 in Bangladesh.

The increment contract for England cricketers is based on a points system where players get five for starting in a Test match and two for playing in an ODI or T20I.

If a player reaches 20 points during the year-long contract period then he gets rewarded with the lucrative increment contract.
