Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the fourth One-Day International (ODI) of the five-match series between England and Australia at Headingley in Leeds. This is Ayush Gupta and I will be bringing you the live updates from this all important clash between two arch-rivals. Having scripted a win in the 3rd ODI by 93 runs, England have more or less opened the door to stay alive in the series. Although Australia still have 2-1 lead with two games to go. England have most likely got the momentum they badly wanted following the loss in the opening couple of games. Although Australia have the psychological advantage moving into the game, England have the home advantage as well as the confidence they derived from the last game that could perfectly work in their favour. An Australian win here will give them the series, whereas if England can beat the Aussies, they will level the game. Who will have the last laugh? Follow all the updates here. So, what a way to win and it surely will be termed as one of the most memorable wins in England’s recent past, as coming on to square series after two matches down is one of the rarest things you will see in cricket. Nevertheless, it was the crucial knock of skipper Eoin Morgan (92), James Taylor (41) and Ben Stokes (41) that did it for England. It would be interesting to see as how things now unfold in the final tie at Manchester that has now turned into a decider. Live Cricket Score England 304/7 | Overs 48.2 | Batting: Moeen Ali 21 (23), David Willey 12 (9): THAT’S IT, ENGLAND WIN IN STYLE!!!! A huge six by David Willey straight down the ground off John Hastings as England finish things off and win the encounter by three wickets, and also level the series as they set up a series decider for the fifth and final ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester on Monday.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 286/7 | Overs 46 | Batting: Moeen Ali 14 (16), David Willey 1 (2): GONE!!!! MAXWELL PULLS OUT ANOTHER STUNNER!!!! This time, he takes it in the boundary. A length delivery from Cummins, Plunkett goes for a wild swing as the ball takes a massive elevation, but Maxwell takes it at the boundary as he flickes it in the air before landing outside the boundary and collects it clean in the air as he lands inside the boundary. Plunkett goes for 17, as David Willey makes his way in.

Live Cricket Score England 266/6 | Overs 43 | Batting: Moeen Ali 9 (8), Liam Plunkett 4 (2): GONE!!!! Jonathan Bairstow has been given caught behind off Glenn Maxwell. He was given initially not out. However, the Australians went for the review and he was seemed to have knciked off the glove as the hot-spot confirmed. Bairstow departs for 31 as Liam Plunkett comes in.

Live Cricket Score England 238/5 | Overs 40 | Batting: Jonathan Bairstow 18 (16), Moeen Ali 0 (2): GONE!!!! WHAT A CATCH BY MAXWELL!!!! A perfect straight rising delivery by Cummins, Morgan goes for a good cut, however it’s is brilliantly caught by Glenn Maxwell at point off one hand as the skipper departs for 92, missing out on a century by just eight runs. However, his knock has more or less made job easy for the incoming batsmen. Would be interesting to see how the remaining batsmen capitalise. Moeen Ali comes in.

Live Cricket Score England 213/4 | Overs 37 | Batting: Eoin Morgan 79 (82), Jonathan Bairstow 7 (10): The 200 comes up for England and it’s just around 100 more they need in order to level things up with the Aussies. Morgan seems to be in a real good touch as he has always seems for the past couple of matches. A ton for him, and England are most likely home.

Ben Stokes has been bowled by Mitchell Marsh for 41, missing out on his half-century by mere nine runs. A yperfect yorker length delivery from Marsh, and Stokes fails to read it completely. Jonathan Bairstow comes in.

Live Cricket Score England 176/3 | Overs 32 | Batting: Eoin Morgan 51 (67), Ben Stokes 39 (49): FIFTY UP FOR MORGAN!!!! The skipper has scored his 28th ODI half-century as it comes off 66 deliveries, including three boundaries and 1 six. Both the batsmen are going strong as of now.

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 150/3 | Overs 27 | Batting: Eoin Morgan 38 (53), Ben Stokes 26 (33): The same story continues while Morgan looks to increase the pace of scoring runs as is looking to attack the bowlers and smashing boundaries quite often. The 50-run partnership is already up between the two and they 150 is also up for England.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 129/3 | Overs 24 | Batting: Eoin Morgan 33 (47), Ben Stokes 11 (21): England continue to bat comfortably owing to some sensible batting from Morgan and Stokes. There was a close call for Morgan for a caugh-behind appeal, however replays showed that the catch was not a fair one.

However, the pace has gone down as usual it happens following the fall of a wicket. Both Morgan and Stokes have a major role on their shoulders to help England reach a comfortable position from whereon they can win this tie. Meanwhile, the 100 comes up for England as well.

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 91/3 | Overs 16 | Batting: Eoin Morgan 8 (18), Ben Stokes 2 (2): GONE!!!! James Taylor falls for a healthy 41, just nine short of his half-century. an unfortunate figure to depart as he is caught-behind by Matthew Wade off Mitchell Marsh, following a flick from Taylor towards fine leg, but Wade does a good attempt by diving left to get rid of him. Ben Stokes comes in.

Live Cricket Score England 87/2 | Overs 14 | Batting: James Taylor 41 (37), Eoin Morgan 6 (13): The momentum has slowed down just a bit following the dismissal of Jason Roy, but James Taylor seems to be playing his natural attacking style of gameplay, occasionally attacking the bowlers for boundaries.

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 75/2 | Overs 11 | Batting: James Taylor 34 (30), Eoin Morgan 1 (1): GONE!!!! Finally a breakthrough just following the initial powerplay phase as Jason Roy falls for a healthy 36 as he is caught by Aaron Finch at covers off Pat Cummins, who strikes for the second time. Skipper, Eoin Morgan makes his way in.

Live Cricket Score England 64/1 | Overs 9 | Batting: Jason Roy 31 (29), James Taylor 29 (24): 50 comes up for England in just eight overs as opener, Jason Roy and James Taylor are taking on the Australian bowlers. Cummins having got the opening breakthorugh is having a hard-time as well as he aling with his fellow Australian bowlers are having a hard time on the field with the English batsmen pressing hard in the opening powerplay phase and scoring runs in a flurry.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 34/1 | Overs 5 | Batting: Jason Roy 5 (12), James Taylor 25 (17): England seem to be batting sensibly with occasional boundaries being hit by the batsmen and also making sure that they keep piling pressure on the Australian bowlers without losing any wickets. James Taylor meanwhile seems to be in a good touch.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score England 5/1 | Overs 2 | Batting: Jason Roy 0 (6), James Taylor 4 (4): GONE!!!! Alex Hales falls for a duck and it’s Pat Cummins who gives the all-important opening breakthrough by trapping him leg-before. A real fast delivery that was straight as Hales went for the shuffle, but completely missed it due to the pace, struck straight onto the pads and umpire, Kumar Dharmasena had no doubts to raise the finger, as Hales opts not to review. James Taylor comes in.

So, with Australia having played out their innings, it was indeed a scary start for the World Champions as they lost three quick wickets as David Willey was indeed on a roll in the opening 10 overs. However, it was the innings from Glenn Maxwell, George Bailey and Matthew Wade that helped Australia recover from the tough scenario and post a respectful total. How will England respond, is the million dollar question now. We will soon be back with England’s chase. Live Cricket Score Australia 299/7 | Overs 50 | Batting: Matthew Wade 50 (26), John Hasting 34 (26): THAT”S IT!!!! Australia finish on 299 for the loss of seven and England have been set a target of exactly 300 runs to win this tie and levek the series for a decider in the fifth ODI. Matthew Wade also scored his seventh ODI half-century, while David Willey remained the top wicket-taker from England with three opening scalps.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 270/7 | Overs 48 | Batting: Matthew Wade 25 (18), John Hasting 30 (22): John Hastings continues to dominate the bowlers witgh some real big shots and few classic boundaries as well. The laste few overs are indeed turning out to be fruitful for the Aussies, while for the English it proving to be costly. The 250 is up as well for the Aussies.

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 245/7 | Overs 46 | Batting: Matthew Wade 8 (10), John Hasting 22 (18): Good three overs from Australia’s perspective as John Hastings seems to be in the mood of scoring and is almost going after every ball from hereon to score runs in a flurry as the innings approaches towards the end.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 217/7 | Overs 43 | Batting: Matthew Wade 2 (4), John Hasting 0 (6): AND AGAIN!!!! Australia seem to be tumbling down here. Marcus Stoinis debut is short-lived with the bat as a low ball from Moeen Ali is drived by Stoinis, sitting on his knees, but finds Rashid in the gully instead. John Hastings makes his way in.

Live Cricket Score Australia 211/6| Overs 41 | Batting: Marcus Stoinis 1 (3), Matthew Wade 0 (0): DOUBLE BREAKTHROUGH!!!! Mitchell Marsh has been dismissed for 17 by Liam Plunkett as he is caught by David Willey at long off after a full-length straigh and high delivery from Plunkett was misread by Marsh, as a straight bat drive led to the ball rise over mid-off and straight to long off. Marsh was soon followed by George Bailey, who too was dismissed by the same man after a stright slower ball was mis-read by Bailey and popped up off the bat to Plunkett’s hand. Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade are the two new men in.

Live Cricket Score Australia 196/4| Overs 37 | Batting: George Bailey 67 (96), Mitchell Marsh 12 (17): No harm done and the batsmen continue to bat in the same manner as they near to the 200-run mark for the team. The English bowlers are bowling at good line and length as of now. However, any loose delivery, it is being smashed for runs.

Live Cricket Score Australia 179/4| Overs 34 | Batting: George Bailey 56 (84), Mitchell Marsh 6 (11): Both the batsmen have again the all-important task to settle down following the sudden dismissal of the man of the moment, Glenn Maxwell, who was indeed batting strong. Altjhough Bailey has the momentum, it Mitchell Marsh who should capitalise on the good work doen so far by both the batsmen and should not commit any casual mistake that could cost the team.

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 169/4| Overs 30 | Batting: George Bailey 51 (70), Mitchell Marsh 1 (1): GONE!!!! Glenn Maxwell has been bowled up by Moeen Ali. What a time to strike, as just when he was looking strong and seemd was aiming for his century, Ali bowled a normal stright deliver, while Maxwell went for a reverse sweep and completely missed it, as a result shattering his leg stumps. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has coming in.

Live Cricket Score Australia 165/3 | Overs 29 | Batting: George Bailey 50 (66), Glenn Maxwell 84 (62): FIFTY UP FOR BAILEY! The former skipper, George Bailey has also followed the footsteps for his partner, Glenn Maxwell and and scored his half-century as well, and scored his 17th ODI fifty, as he aims for a big score as well. Also, they bring up their 100-run stand for the fourth wicket.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 129/3 | Overs 23 | Batting: George Bailey 34 (48), Glenn Maxwell 64 (45): FIFTY UP FOR MAXWELL! Glenn Maxwell brings up his 12 ODI half-century and that too in style with a huge six off Adil Rashid. Superb gameplay by the batsmen under pressure situation as he now aims to score big and keep the momentum going.

Live Cricket Score Australia 112/3 | Overs 22 | Batting: George Bailey 34 (47), Glenn Maxwell 47 (40): Another healthy and comfortable four overs for Ausrtralia as they continue to bat in the same manner. However, the boundaries are not coming so often, but they continue to maintain the singles and couples momentum strong. The 100 is however up for the Aussies.

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 91/3 | Overs 18 | Batting: George Bailey 24 (33), Glenn Maxwell 36 (30): The 50-run partnership is up as well between Bailey and Maxwell for the fourth wicket, although it has come for a price of the three opening wickets. Both the batsmen have so far batted sensibly and are looking to steer the innings comfortably towards a big total and also make sure that they suffer no more setbacks. Meanwhile, Maxwell has been dropped twice in this game so far.

 

 

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 71/3 | Overs 15 | Batting: George Bailey 11 (20), Glenn Maxwell 30 (25): Still going good so far follwing the three early breakthroughs from David Willey. Both Bailey and Maxwell have been going good, with Maxwell palying confidently.

Live Cricket Score Australia 58/3 | Overs 12 | Batting: George Bailey 7 (11), Glenn Maxwell 21 (16): 50 up for the Aussies, although for the price of the crucial top-order wickets. Davis Willey has certainly been a nightmare for the Australia’s top batting order. However, it would be interesting to see how the middle over sopes up with the early setback and how things unfold in the upcoming overs. England must remeber that their job is not even half donbe and must continue to pile more pressure on the Aussie batsmen.

 

 

Live Cricket Score Australia 31/3 | Overs 9 | Batting: George Bailey 1 (5), Glenn Maxwell 1 (3): NO.3 GOES DOWN!!!! Willey continues to strike as he gets the opener, Aaron Finch caught behind off Jonathan Bairstow. Astraight rising delivery, Finch just knicks it to the wicketkeeper, and Bairstow collwcts it comfortably. Australia seem to be in all trouble with three wickets down in just nine overs as the hard-hitting glenn Maxwell makes his way in. However, he will have second thoughts as of now whether to go hard-hitting at this situation.

Live Cricket Score Australia 25/2 | Overs 7 | Batting: Aaron Finch 11 (19), George Bailey 0 (4): GONE AGAIN!!!! David Willey strikes again as it’s the skipper this time. Steven Smith has been adjudjed leg-before as a perfect full length delivery hit straight onto the pads of Smith, which he looked to flick across the on-side. George zbailey is the new man in as Willey seems to be on a roll here, generating a good amount of swing.

Joe Burns has been bowled by David Willey, as he plays it on to his stumps, following an agled-cross bowl from the fatst bowler. Skipper, Steven Smith makes his way in as Australia are off to shaky start.

Live Cricket Score Australia 9/0 | Over 1 | Batting: Joe Burns 1 (1) Aaron Finch 4 (5): David Willey opens the bowling for England. Not a good start for him and England in this all important game. There is one close LBW call as well, but umpire Dharmasena is not bothered. 9 runs from the first over including 4 leg byes.  

Australia win toss, decide to bat first.

Both teams have made two changes. For Australia Marcus Stoinis makes his debut in place of Ashton Agar. John Hastings also comes into the team in place of Mitchell Starc. For England Steve Finn has been rested and Chris Woakes is injured, so Mark Wood and David Willey have replaced them in playing XI.
