England announced their One-day squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. As expected Alastair Cook will lead the team. All-rounder Ravi Bapara made a comeback in the team. Also young batsman James Taylor managed to keep his place in the team. England will play a seven match One-day International (ODI) series against the hosts with the first match starting on November 26. They will also play two warm up matches against Sri Lanka A prior to the ODI series. Before World Cup this series will give England ample opportunities to fix the right combination.
England selectors also named a Performance Programme squad (EPS) which has been split into two groups. The batsmen and spinners will make a trip to Sri Lanka while the fast bowlers will travel to Potchefstroom in South Africa. Two of the spinners, Adil Rashid and Stephen Parry, will depart with the main squad to Sri Lanka to help with preparations before linking up with the rest of the EPP squad in the country.
