England have dropped their bowling spearhead James Anderson for their do-or-die match against West Indies to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday, The Sun reported.

Anderson will be replaced by Chris Tremlett, who was included in the England squad after a strain injury ruled out Stuart Broad.

Lancashire swinger Anderson has looked tired and way below his best in this World Cup. He bowled a string of wide deliveries during the closing overs of England’s shocking defeat by Bangladesh last Friday.

England will be ruled out of World Cup if they lose this crucial match against West Indies.
