David Willey’s bagged a superb hat-trick in the final over as England posted 177 in 20 overs in their final warm-up match of ICC World T20 2016 against Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) XI at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Monday. Adil Rashid, who played for MCA XI along with Jos Butler, James Vince and Willey, picked was the first bowler to make the breakthrough and eventually picked two important wickets of England openers Jason Roy and Alex Hales. The other wickets were shared between Willey and Shardul Thakur with the former picking three and Thakur claiming two wickets. Root became Willey’s first victim on the fourth delivery of the final over before he dismissed the Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan to give an disastrous end to England’s innings. This was the second hat-trick after Australia’s Josh Hazlewood claimed a hat-trick during their warm-up match against West Indies on Sunday at Eden Gardens. Despite the hat-trick, Australia ended in the losing side.

Roy and Hales gave a flying start to England, putting up 69 runs for the first wicket from just 6.3 overs. Later the duo of Root and Ben Stokes took the charge of runs following the dismissal of both the openers. Stokes and Root shared a stand of 69-run for the fourth wicket of 6.5 overs. Stokes became Thakur’s victim scoring a quick 30 runs off 23 balls. The lower-order, that includes Sam Billings, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan, failed miserably with the bat. All the three were dismissed for a single digit with Jordon going for a duck. Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bat.
