England batsmen played sensible knocks as they set a target of 173 for Pakistan to win and level terms in the second of the three-match T20I series at the Dubai Sports Complex on Friday. Earlier, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bat first, he was leading the side as regular skipper Eoin Morgan had opted out of the game to serve a rest for himself. Along with him, Chris Woakes, David Willey and Joe Root were the newcomers in the side, while Chris Jordan, Moeen Ali and Vince Topley were dropped. England started their innings on a steady note, with the openers in the form of Jason Roy and Alex Hales contributed 32 runs before Hales fell for 11 to Afridi. With 15 added to the total, Roy too departed after scoring a promising 29 to Afridi. It was followed by a 27-run stand for the third wicket between James Vince and Joe Root, before Root fell for 20 to Shoaib Malik at the score of 74.

Following his departure, it was followed by the biggest partnership of the innings for 35 runs between Vince and Jos Buttler, before Vince fell for 38 to Afridi again. he was also the highest scorer for England in the innings, while Afridi becam the highest T20I wickettaker for Pakistan, surpassing Saeed Ajmal. It was followed y a 27-run stand betwwen Buttler and Sam Billings, before Billings fell for mere 11 in the 17th over to Wahab.

At the score of 150, it was Buttler, who fell for 30 to Sohail Tanvir and departed as the second highest scorer for England in the game. While he was followed by some quick fall of wickets in the form of Liam Plunkett for a single and David Willey for four. It was the final pair of Adil Rashid and Chris Woakes, who batted out the remaining overs to help England set a target of 173 for Pakistan to level the series.
